Bakugan Battle Brawlers

 

Pokémon, Yu Gi Oh and Digimon beware! There’s a new game in town that’s quickly gaining in popularity, yes you guessed it right I’m talking about Bakugan Battle Brawlers. Based on the popular Japanese Anime Show Bakugan Battle Brawlers has taken the game by the scruff of the neck. But first an introduction for all those not familiar with this game.

The Bakugan Battle Brawlers game is based on a popular Japanese anime television show in which Naga a Bakugan absorbs too much of the negative energy of the world. While most of the positive energy has been absorbed by his sister Wavern. The story then involves around seven children, who travel together to learn more about the Bakugan and the game that they are involved in as well as battle the forces of evil.

But what makes the Bakugan Battle Brawlers game different from all the other board game out there is the game play. The board game consists of marbles and steel gate cards. There are basically six different kinds of marbles, each of which represents a different creature from a different planet. The different marbles basically represent different elements such as fire, water, air, sub earth, darkness and light. When any of these marbles lands on the metal gate card then they transform into a Bakugan creature!

Each player starts out with three gate cards and marbles, each of the marble creatures has some sort of value printed on it, basically it can be defined as the creature’s strength. Different cards have different strengths and that’s what helps make the game play more intense.

Now let’s examine the different cards and their functions. First up is the Gate card, which has different colors on it which represent the different planets and elements. These cards are of varying strength and can be used in the middle of battles to enhance a creature’s defensive or offensive ability. Then there are character cards, these have the various different creatures types listed on them and their varying strengths. 

Command cards are also available; these basically alter the rules of battle when drawn. The actually battles are pretty easy to understand actually.  Both Players turn over their gate cards, the players then compare their opponent’s card’s strength and the one with the most points gets the other player’s card. The game ends when one player has more Bakugans present on the board or has more points then the other person.

The game encourages creativity and independent thinking, as a player needs to choose his gate cards properly and then establish his strategy based on those cards. Considerable skill is also needed to roll the marbles properly.

The Bakugan Brawlers board game has been a huge hit all over the world. Thanks in part to its revolutionary design and innovative game play ideas. Unlike other cheap plastic card games out there, the Bakugan Battle Brawlers cards are made up of metals and the marbles which metamorph (transform) into Bakugan creatures are actually pretty cool.
